Arcadia, California

Women's sober living near Arcadia

The largest hospital of any city we serve, a VA clinic, the county mental health clinic and two women's meetings — all inside one city.

22 miles, about 30 minutes from the house · one monthly residency fee covering every utility, internet and laundry, with no deposit

Arcadia has more referral infrastructure inside its own borders than any other city on this list. The hospital is the largest we serve at 348 beds. The VA clinic, the county mental health walk-in clinic and a probation area office are all here. Two women's AA meetings run in town. And a single bus line goes from Arcadia to Montclair without a transfer.

Treatment and hospitals

USC Arcadia Hospital, 300 West Huntington Drive, carries 348 licensed beds — the largest hospital in any city we serve — with 35 emergency department treatment stations and 41,521 emergency visits in 2024 (CHHS facility data).

For treatment, Pinnacle Detox & Recovery, 202 West Lemon Avenue, (747) 444-7477, is a licensed ten-bed co-ed residential detox (DHCS licensed facilities). It is a referral partner: a short co-ed detox discharges women who then need somewhere sober to live.

The San Gabriel Valley VA Clinic is also in the city, at 7 West Foothill Boulevard, Suite D, 626-836-2300 (VA). We provide housing only — no clinical care, no counselling, no case management.

Residents pick their own recovery support program, secular or faith-based. We do not designate a program, require a particular meeting, or hold meetings at the house.

Survivors of domestic violence

Some of the women we house are leaving an abusive home rather than a treatment bed. For them the housing question is the whole question — the practical alternative to a bed is often going back to the person she left.

We do not publish the address of the house. It is given only to accepted residents and to the agencies that refer them. And to be clear about what this is: Her Aria is not a licensed domestic violence shelter. We do not provide protective services, security services, legal advocacy, restraining order help or safety planning. Those stay with a woman's own advocate, attorney and law enforcement agency.

What Arcadia doesn't have

The CCAPP registry lists no recovery residence in the city, and there are zero network listings (CCAPP; Sober Living Network). The largest hospital we serve, a VA clinic, a county mental health clinic, a probation office and a detox programme — and not one sober bed.

We are 30 minutes east, and one bus gets there: women only, gated, MAT welcome, one monthly fee, no deposit. Refer a client.

Getting here from Arcadia

Foothill Transit Line 492 runs El Monte – Arcadia – Montclair Transit Center — a single-seat ride from Arcadia toward the house, with no transfer (Foothill Transit). The Metro A Line has an Arcadia station (Metro), and Lines 187 and 270 connect Azusa, Pasadena, Monrovia and El Monte (Foothill Transit).

A woman placed with us can keep an Arcadia job, an Arcadia prescriber and her VA appointments without a car. That is what makes a placement hold.

Referrals answered the same day. Refer a client or see what's included.
