Women's sober living near Loma Linda

Loma Linda is small and its referral weight is enormous. The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System campus is here, alongside a Level I trauma centre and a second hospital. For a woman veteran leaving VA care who needs sober housing, there is nothing in this city.

Treatment and hospitals

VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, 11201 Benton Street, is the main VA campus for this region (VA Loma Linda). Loma Linda University Medical Center, 11234 Anderson Street, (909) 558-4000, holds 320 beds and Level I trauma designation, with LLUMC East Campus, 25333 Barton Road, (909) 825-8601, adding 134 beds (CHHS facility data). Heart 2 Heart Behavioral Health, 24230 Barton Road, (747) 786-4209, is a licensed outpatient programme (DHCS).

We work with VA case managers and are set up for women veterans. We provide housing only — a woman's VA care, prescriber and clinic stay hers.

Women's meetings

No women's meeting is listed inside Loma Linda. The nearest is 12 X 12 Woman, Mondays 12:00 noon, The Ark Church, 1307 E Citrus Avenue, Redlands (Inland Empire AA).

Residents choose their own recovery support programme, secular or faith-based. We do not designate one or hold meetings here.

Survivors of domestic violence

Some of the women we house are leaving an abusive home rather than a treatment bed. For them the housing question is the whole question — the practical alternative to a bed is often going back to the person she left.

We do not publish the address of the house. It is given only to accepted residents and to the agencies that refer them. And to be clear about what this is: Her Aria is not a licensed domestic violence shelter. We do not provide protective services, security services, legal advocacy, restraining order help or safety planning. Those stay with a woman's own advocate, attorney and law enforcement agency.

What Loma Linda doesn't have

Zero. No certified residence, no network listing (CCAPP; Sober Living Network). A VA case manager with a woman veteran who needs sober housing has nothing in Loma Linda and nothing in the next city either.

We are 34 minutes west. Women only, gated, MAT welcome, no deposit. Refer a client.

Getting here from Loma Linda

Omnitrans connects Loma Linda west through Colton and San Bernardino toward the house, and Metrolink's San Bernardino Line runs the same corridor (Omnitrans). A woman can keep VA appointments from here without a car.
