Women's sober living near Rialto

Rialto has 106,809 people, a county behavioural health clinic and a certified outpatient substance use programme operating from the same address on East Foothill, plus the county welfare office a mile west. It has no certified recovery residence at all. Not one.

Treatment and hospitals

Two programmes share 850 East Foothill Boulevard. San Bernardino County DBH Mesa Counseling Center, (909) 421-9301, is the county's outpatient behavioural health clinic here (SB County Behavioral Health). Rialto Behavioral Addiction Treatment Services, (909) 421-9465, is a licensed outpatient substance use programme at the same address (DHCS licensed facilities).

Outpatient treatment only works if a woman has somewhere stable and sober to sleep. That is the piece missing in Rialto, and it is the only piece we provide. No clinical care, no counselling, no case management.

Women's meetings

Renacimiento, a Spanish-language meeting, runs nightly at 8:00 p.m., 444 E Foothill Boulevard (Inland Empire AA). No women-only meeting is listed inside Rialto; the nearest is Women Doing the Work in Fontana, Tuesdays 5:30 p.m.

Residents choose their own recovery support programme, secular or faith-based. We do not designate one or hold meetings here.

Survivors of domestic violence

Some of the women we house are leaving an abusive home rather than a treatment bed. For them the housing question is the whole question — the practical alternative to a bed is often going back to the person she left.

We do not publish the address of the house. It is given only to accepted residents and to the agencies that refer them. And to be clear about what this is: Her Aria is not a licensed domestic violence shelter. We do not provide protective services, security services, legal advocacy, restraining order help or safety planning. Those stay with a woman's own advocate, attorney and law enforcement agency.

What Rialto doesn't have

Zero. No certified residence, no Sober Living Network listing (CCAPP; Sober Living Network). A county clinician in Rialto with a woman who needs sober housing has nothing in the city to refer her to.

We are 25 minutes west. Women only, gated, MAT welcome, one monthly fee, no deposit. Refer a client.

Getting here from Rialto

Metrolink's San Bernardino Line runs Rialto west toward the house with no transfer, and Omnitrans covers the Foothill corridor (Omnitrans). A woman can keep an outpatient schedule at Mesa Counseling from here without a car.
