Women's sober living near San Dimas

San Dimas is the strongest of the close-in cities. It has its own hospital, which most of its neighbours do not, and it has an established women's meeting inside the city. What it has none of is sober housing — not one listing in either registry.

Treatment and hospitals

San Dimas Community Hospital, 1350 West Covina Boulevard, (909) 305-5616, carries 101 licensed beds, 8 emergency department treatment stations and 13,983 emergency visits in 2024, with no psychiatric beds (CHHS facility data). It is the nearest hospital for La Verne, Walnut and Diamond Bar as well, which makes its discharge desk the busiest referral point in this corner of the valley.

There are zero DHCS-licensed treatment programmes in San Dimas (DHCS licensed facilities). The nearest are in Azusa: The River Community, 23701 East Fork Road, (626) 250-3300, a 38-bed dual-diagnosis residential programme, and Pathways Recovery Center, 1033 North Soldano Avenue, (626) 515-6424, a 12-bed detox (DHCS). Both are referral partners.

Women's meetings

There is a women's meeting in the city: Foothill Vineyard Women's Group, Wednesdays 6:30 a.m., 100 East Foothill Boulevard (LA Central Office of AA). Nearby, Glendora has Women's Rule 62 on Fridays at 6:30 p.m., 827 South Lone Hill Avenue, and Claremont has a women's meeting Saturdays at 11:00 a.m., 1111 North Mountain (SGV Central Office).

Residents pick their own recovery support program, secular or faith-based. We do not designate a program, require a particular meeting, or hold meetings at the house.

Survivors of domestic violence

Some of the women we house are leaving an abusive home rather than a treatment bed. For them the housing question is the whole question — the practical alternative to a bed is often going back to the person she left.

We do not publish the address of the house. It is given only to accepted residents and to the agencies that refer them. And to be clear about what this is: Her Aria is not a licensed domestic violence shelter. We do not provide protective services, security services, legal advocacy, restraining order help or safety planning. Those stay with a woman's own advocate, attorney and law enforcement agency.

There is no DV provider inside San Dimas. The nearest is House of Ruth, (909) 623-4364, 24-hour line (877) 988-5559 in Claremont. What San Dimas doesn't have

The CCAPP registry lists no certified residence in San Dimas, and the Sober Living Network lists none either (CCAPP; Sober Living Network). A hospital seeing nearly fourteen thousand emergency patients a year, an established women's meeting, county housing specialists one town over — and no sober housing at all.

Getting here from San Dimas

Foothill Transit Line 284 runs Glendora – San Dimas – Covina and Line 295 runs San Dimas Station – Cal Poly Pomona – Mt. SAC. From there, Line 480 reaches Montclair Transit Center, Line 197 runs Pomona – Claremont – Montclair, and the Silver Streak and Line 699 Express run the same corridor (Foothill Transit). The Metrolink San Bernardino Line runs Covina and Pomona-North through Claremont to Montclair (Metrolink).
