Women's sober living near Upland

Upland carries the most complete set of Medi-Cal levels of care near this house, and the strongest cluster of women's AA meetings within four miles. It is also the one nearby city where a women's recovery option genuinely already exists, so this page is a comparison rather than a gap.

Treatment and hospitals

San Antonio Regional Hospital, 999 San Bernardino Road, has 363 licensed beds; its Lewis Emergency Department runs 24 hours and the hospital is a Certified Primary Stroke Center and STEMI Receiving Center (HCAI, SARH). No psychiatric or chemical dependency beds are licensed there, so holds route to Canyon Ridge in Chino (HCAI). Inland Valley Recovery Services has run a continuum here since 1962 — detoxification, residential, outpatient and aftercare — and specifically references treatment for pregnant and post-partum women (IVRS).

Women's meetings — the strongest cluster within four miles

All AA, and three are morning meetings a woman can hold a job around: Monday 9:30 a.m. Women's Daily Dose, Friday 9:30 a.m. Women's As Bill Sees It and Saturday 10:00 a.m. Women's Fresh Start Participation, all at The Meeting Place, 943 W. Foothill Boulevard; plus Wednesday 6:00 p.m. Women's Big Book, closed, Grace Lutheran Church, 2108 Euclid Avenue (San Gabriel Valley & Pomona Valley Central Office). The Inland Empire directory lists that Foothill address as 945 (Inland Empire AA).

Celebrate Recovery: Life Bible Fellowship Church, 2426 N. Euclid Avenue, Fridays 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., which states all open share issue groups are gender-specific (LBF Church).

Survivors of domestic violence

Some of the women we house are leaving an abusive home rather than a treatment bed. For them the housing question is the whole question — the practical alternative to a bed is often going back to the person she left.

We do not publish the address of the house. It is given only to accepted residents and to the agencies that refer them. And to be clear about what this is: Her Aria is not a licensed domestic violence shelter. We do not provide protective services, security services, legal advocacy, restraining order help or safety planning. Those stay with a woman's own advocate, attorney and law enforcement agency.

What Upland doesn't have

Upland is the exception on this list, so here is the honest version. It has 12 verified recovery residences, the densest supply in the corridor, and the directory characterizes them as co-ed with most not publishing a price (Recovery Housing Directory — Upland). IVRS itself operates program-linked homes for men, women, men with children and women with children (IVRS) and holds a county Recovery Residence contract (county directory).

So Upland does not lack a women's bed. It lacks an independent one. Her Aria is tied to no treatment provider, and every woman in the same room with the same bed pays the same fee — every utility included, no deposit. If a program-linked placement fits better, take it. Refer a client.

Omnitrans 84 and 85 both list Upland and Montclair; Route 85 runs every 30 minutes on weekdays between Chino Transit Center and Montclair (Route 85, Omnitrans routes).
